On April 11th, Vinh Phuc Provincial People’s Committee, in collaboration with the Danang municipal authorities, convened the Vinh Phuc Tourism Destination Promotion Conference 2025 in Danang. The event served as a platform to showcase the province’s cultural heritage, human capital, and tourism development potential, while also facilitating networking opportunities for investors, travel agencies, and domestic golf clubs to foster investment and collaborative tourism initiatives.

In his opening remarks, Nguyen Khac Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Vinh Phuc Provincial People’s Committee, highlighted the conference’s significance as a key event within the framework of the National Tourism Year and Vinh Phuc’s 2025 Tourism Promotion Program. He characterized Vinh Phuc as a “golden land” for tourism development, benefiting from a unique geographical position at the intersection of the mountainous Northwest, the midlands, and the Red River Delta. This topographical diversity endows Vinh Phuc with three distinct landscape zones – mountainous, midland, and delta – fostering a rich and diverse ecosystem. The province boasts a wealth of historical and cultural sites, including over 1,400 historical and cultural relics, of which 521 are officially recognized at various levels. These include six Special National Relics, such as the Tay Thien Scenic Area and the Binh Son Tower, alongside 62 National Relics and 453 Provincial Relics. The Dai Bao Thap Tay stands as a key tourism landmark.

Furthermore, Vinh Phuc is home to 19 traditional craft villages specializing in diverse trades such as bamboo weaving, pottery, stone carving, and carpentry. Products like Trieu De bamboo weaving (Lap Thach district) and Huong Canh pottery (Binh Xuyen district), as well as honey and ba kích (Tam Dao), and snake-derived products from Vinh Son (Vinh Tuong), enjoy significant popularity. The province’s folk games and local culinary specialties, including cá thính, su su, bánh hòn, and cháo se, further enhance its appeal to tourists.

A significant milestone was achieved on January 25, 2022, when Tam Dao was officially recognized as a National Tourist Area by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Moreover, on November 11, 2022, in Muscat, Oman, the World Travel Awards honored Tam Dao as the “World’s Leading Town Destination 2022”. Tam Dao continued its winning streak, receiving the “World’s Leading Town Destination” award in 2024.

According to the Vinh Phuc Department of Tourism, the province is home to four major golf courses: Tam Dao Golf Course, Thanh Lanh Golf Course, Dai Lai Star Golf Course, and Dam Vac Golf Course. Characterized by luxurious designs, professional 5-star standards, scenic landscapes, and serene environments, these golf courses represent ideal destinations for golf tourism. The Vinh Phuc golf course system is consistently ranked among the top 5 most popular, solidifying Vinh Phuc’s position as a premier tourism destination, attracting both domestic and international tourists.

Building upon its existing strengths, Vinh Phuc is strategically investing in high-end resort tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, and golf tourism, targeting high-income demographics. These sectors have experienced significant growth in recent years, generating substantial revenue for the province’s tourism industry and contributing to its socio-economic development. In 2024, Vinh Phuc’s tourism sector is projected to receive 10.6 million visitors, generating an estimated revenue of VND 4 trillion.

Addressing investors and enterprises, Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Hieu affirmed Vinh Phuc’s commitment to prioritizing tourism investment, focusing on developing the province’s competitive advantages to establish unique tourism areas with high-quality services and diverse tourism offerings. The overarching goal is to position Vinh Phuc as a strategic hub within the national and regional tourism landscape.

Mr. Hieu expressed his optimism that the conference would provide delegates with a comprehensive understanding of Vinh Phuc’s cultural assets, human resources, and tourism potential, facilitating networking, investment, and collaborative opportunities for domestic investors, travel agencies, and golf clubs. The conference is intended to serve as a platform for Vinh Phuc’s tourism businesses to showcase their products, connect with travel agencies, golf clubs, and tourists from Central Vietnam, and to bolster tourism promotion efforts.
